Dear divers,

1    Many of you received the errant notification from MINDEF about ICT in the coming month of December or January just like me. So I called up NDU admin center and clarified with them. I have obtained instructions from them with regards to go about processing the disruption from ICT during the three to four years of your studies.

2    Before you proceed on, please be informed that the following two paragraphs ONLY APPLIES TO THOSE GOING TO NUS, NTU OR SMU THIS COMING AUGUST. Those going to any other institute of higher learning please skip to paragraph 5.

3    Currently, none of us have received our Matriculation Letter yet so thats why we have not yet been transfered to the IHL (Institute of Higher Learning) list. So the system cleverly assumes thus we must attend the coming reservist. Letter of admission is not enough because you still can reject the admission.

4    So come August or when you receive your Matriculation Letter from your respective universities, you just have to send that letter together with a small note including your personal particulars (Name, IC, Unit, Batch) attention to Ferlis via either one of the following two channels:

 1. Fax to 67964017 followed by a call to double check that they have received your fax.

 2. Email a scanned copy of your Matriculation letter to NDUNS@starnet.gov.sg (take note of the capital letters for NDUNS) followed by a  call to double check that they have received your email.

5    For those who are going to private universities, overseas universities, polytechnic or any other educational institues of higher learning that I have failed to list, you may apply for disruption from ICT and be transfered to IHL as well. However, please call up Ferlis at 67964016 and inform her as these cases would be subjected to consideration individually.

6    Do remember that although you are excused from ICT during the three or four years, you are not excused from IPPT or emergency mobilisation (touch wood).

7    Please inform your fellow 25th batch divers to read this if they have not already done so. I apologize for any considerations that I may have left out. For further clarifications or questions, please call Ferlis at 67964016.
