I went to Bay Beats on Friday, hoping to show some support for the local music scene and gain some inspiration. I was late to get there but caught the last band act called PlainSunset. Good punk rock and we were really impressed with the stolen grooves, but which musicians don’t steal. Right?

The whole experience was great and I would now like to say thank you to some of the people who were there together with me and made it all enjoyable.

I would like to thank the giaotors, some of the ahnehs and a handful of chinese punks who were there for a few things you all did.

First, well its punk rock after all and I could clearly observe that you all could associate with it or whatever, I guess thats why you were jumping around and, being so engrossed in the music, were shaking violently with no regards whatsoever for the people around you. Hope you all were not doing drugs. Not only did you add to the atmosphere you totally gave a whole new meaning to “rocking out”.

Second, I guess you all saw that the security guards and police officers there were rather bored by the music that is clearly not their era so you decided to keep them busy by randomly smashing yourselves into bystanders, pushing each other, swinging your arms dangerously around and occasionally adding a kick here and there as if you were all possessed so they had to grab a few of you all through the throngs of people almost injuring a few in the process. I guess if not for you guys, it would not have been such an eventful night for the security crew there.

Third, the highlight was how you all hoist people into the air and throw them around together with bottles filled with water. I mean thats like the tradition of all rock concert isn’t it? How can a rock concert be complete without it, although the possible safety hazards it pose could end up giving broken limbs? But I guess it was all worth it wasn’t it. Not only did you block people’s view but also distracted them , I guess there were times when the band was playing slightly out of tune so you decided to help them out by creating a sideshow. PlainSunset must have felt very grateful to all of you who helped them.

To the fucking malays there who were making a fuck fool out of yourself, I’m not surprised nor impressed by your antics, you just further convinced me why you all are the most fucked up race in Singapore. Well done MATS. To the indians there, yeah you did what you were best at, drink alcohol and getting into violent displays. Kudos to you. To the chinese ginas there, I’m fucking ashamed for you for associating with the above mentioned. Yeah national day’s around the corner and yeah multi racial Singapore but not by destroying a good fun night of local music. Serious-fucking-ly I wish all of you are either thrown in jail or enlisted for NS.

On another note, to the FOCC of law, you all did a great job and have put in alot of hard work. But the second installment of night court was not only tasteless but to the point it became irritating. At least for people who already went to law camp. Didn’t help that OGLs resorted to telling freshmen that attendance was compulsory. I feel it would have been better to try and convince them, then at least their participation would be an informed choice and not just a big lie. So it really sucks to have to go down to school thinking it was a real lecture just to get punked. DUH. No points for guessing whether I’m still interested in the rest of the activities for matric week.
